Adding Game Consoles to Wireless Using Boxer Connect

Connecting to Boxer Legacy:

The “Boxer Legacy” SSID is for game consoles, consumer devices, or any other wireless device that does not work with EAP-TLS authentication. As you go through the registration process in Boxer Connect (https://boxerconnect.pacificu.edu), you will pick the option for “Another Device” to register these devices. During the registration, you will need to enter the hardware MAC address of your wireless network adapter. After registering the MAC address, you will see a prompt with the SSID to connect to (Boxer Legacy) and the password for the network.

For the XBox 360, use the following steps:

1) Get the MAC Address of the console:
To find the MAC address of your XBox, you’ll need to be connected to a network before the option is available.
To start, go to “My XBox” in the XBox dashboard and select “System Settings”
Go to “Network Settings” and then “Configure Network”
The XBox should scan for available wireless networks. Join “BoxerConnect” which is an open SSID for getting online.
Once connected to BoxerConnect, use the “Configure Network” option to display the network settings.
Under the “Additional Settings” tab, select “Alternate MAC Address” which will display the XBox’s MAC address. Make a note of this for the next step.

2) From a computer (IE on the XBox is not supported) Go to BoxerConnect (https://boxerconnect.pacificu.edu) Log in with your PUNetID
Select “Another Device”
Enter the MAC Address of the XBox when Prompted
Upon registration, you will be given the SSID and password for the wireless network to use to get the XBox online.
